Summary 7 Card Stud Poker is the most popular stud poker game. There are 5 betting rounds. All players are dealt 7 cards. One bet and three raises are allowed on each betting round. Any 5 of your 7 cards can be used to make up your best poker hand. The best poker hand wins the pot. 7 Card Stud Rules Seven Card Stud Poker starts with all players putting the ante (depends on the betting limits of the table) bet in the pot. After the Antes have been placed each player is dealt 3 cards. Two down cards and one card face up. The first round of betting follows and another card is dealt face up for the second betting round. This repeats itself in betting rounds three and four. After betting round four there will be 2 cards down and 4 cards up. In the final round of betting a face down card is dealt to the remaining players. The best hand wins the pot (or the hand that never gets called while betting). 7 Card Stud Hi\Lo - Stud 8 or Better The difference with regular 7 card stud poker is that the pot is split between the high hand and the low hand. For the low hand the player needs to qualify first. The poker hand with different numerical values in his poker hand from Ace (lowest) through 8 qualifies. If 2 or more players qualify for the low hand, the lowest card wins half of the poker pot. So the best low hand would be "Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5".
